There are so many entrepreneurs out there already. It happens to be a new American dream – to be your own boss and do not work for other person. There are many benefits of this kind of job, surely. Your own daily routine, doing what you love to do and what makes you happy, staying at home in your pjs all day etc.
But for me being an entrepreneur is more than that. Let me tell you, why.
First of all I had always been that creative kind of person and I always wanted to do my regular job in creative way, my own way. Even when I worked for several companies doing different jobs, I was enthusiastic about simple things.
But mainly reason I decided to become a small business owner was something that changed my life forever, I think. I was senior at high school when I was diagnosed with self harm OCD. Yes, I am a cutter. And every scar on my body reminds me of that horrible 11 years which I spent dealing with this exhausting disease. You know that song “Scars” by Tove Lo? I love it by the way – stories left on the skin – it literally speaks to me.
So, since I am disabled person now, there is no such a job which I could do on regular basis for months or even years to support myself. That’s why Etsy was a first thing that popped in my mind in order to support myself somehow. I can work from home and be creative, doing what I love and making people happy. I am feeling wanted on Etsy. It is a community of creative and supportive people and I am also loving being a part of it. But create something beautiful still is the most rewarding part.
So, that’s my story. If you can relate to that as well, tell me yours too. I would like to receive your inspiring story whatever it is, feel free to write me an email or put it in the comments below! Let’s support each other!
Oh! And don’t forget to check out my Etsy shop!
